Curriculam Vitae

P.Raja’s works won him International Eminent Poet Award (1988) from Chennai and Michael Madhusudan Academy Award (1991) from Kolkata. Pondicherry University honoured him with its literary award in 1987. And in 2009 the Govt. of Pondicherry honoured him with ‘Excellence in Literature’ Award.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Teaches English language & literature at Tagore Arts College, Pondicherry .
  • Has published articles, short stories, poems, interviews, one act plays, reviews, skits and features in more than 350 newspapers and magazines, both in India and abroad.
  • Has written scripts for All India Radio (Pdy & Karaikal)) and Doordarshan (Delhi).
  • Has contributed special articles to Encyclopaedia of Post-colonial Literatures in English [London], Encyclopaedia of Tamil literature in English and several edited volumes.
  • MEMBER of English Executive Board (Sahitya Akademi, Delhi) from 2008-2012.
