P.Raja, a professor of English, is a fictionist, poet, playwright, translator and folklorist. His areas of specialization are Pondicherry’s history, culture, literature and religion. He lectures on these chosen areas. He has 24 books and 8 booklets in English and 7 books in Tamil.

Dr.P.Raja (b. Oct. 07, 1952) was born in Pondicherry, India and so exposed to a cosmopolitan culture since childhood. He began writing in his early youth and has published poems, short stories, interviews, articles, book reviews, plays, skits and features in more than 350 periodicals both in India and abroad. Two eminent American journals – Spindrift and Aristos – brought out special issues to highlight his writings.
